MY BACKYARD YOUR BACKYARD

This has been an exciting project which has captured visually and artistically current Italian backyards in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven, showing links to vitality, well-being, sustainability and traditional knowledge through personal stories including love, family and neighbours.

We hope that the community will benefit from this project, continuing to raise awareness of how fulfilling remaining active is, the importance of sharing and passing down of traditions and also the importance of capturing our multicultural existence and its positive influence on Australian society.

The "My Backyard: Your Backyard" project has been an initiative of the Italian Social Welfare Organisation of Wollongong, produced by Why Documentaries and commissioned by the Community Relations Commission of NSW.
The DVD was successfully launched 20 October 2012.
